Lunar Surface Film Festival
If you could attend a film festival on the moon, would you? If it’s anything like Lunar Surface Film Fest, you wouldn’t have to ask me twice. Inspired by Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, this festival imagines a future where sci-fi classics illuminate the craters of the moon.
From the moment you receive your silver suitcase in the mail, the world of Lunar Surface Film Fest unfolds. Inside, laser-etched sheet metal passes grant you access to screenings under the lunar sky. A three-ring bound program—printed on mixed paper types—echoes vintage NASA manuals, guiding you through the festival’s events.
A fabric flag, emblazoned with the festival’s logo, is ready to be staked into your own piece of lunar terrain, mirroring the iconic American flag left behind by Apollo astronauts.
This project includes a complete brand identity system—logo, palette, typography,
printed materials, and festival ephemera—to bring Lunar Surface Film Fest to life.
After working on this, I might just start scouting locations for an opening night...
